Hi Aaron,
Thank you for asking! It is great that you are interested in finding out about Trevor Events in your area. Currently, we do not have any events occurring in Pittsburgh or its surrounding areas, but that doesn’t mean that there isn’t stuff out there for you to do!
If you check out http://www.glccpgh.org/ it will take you to the Gay and Lesbian Community Center of Pittsburgh. On the right hand side of the page you can find all the events they are being held this month. Also, check out http://pennsec.org/local-resources/local-lgbtq-youth-organizations/, it is the Pennsylvania Student Equality Coalition. If you scroll down the page a bit you can find youth LGBT events that are occurring in Pittsburgh! You can also usually find events through our LGBT local resources page on the Trevor Project website: http://www.thetrevorproject.org/youth/local-resources.
If you want to put on your own event check out Day of silence at http://www.dayofsilence.org/. This is a student-led national event that brings attention to bullying and harassment of LGBT youth in school. It is a wonderful way to bring attention to the devastating effects bullying has on people.
If you are extremely passionate about the Trevor Project organization in particular you can look into our volunteer opportunities at http://www.thetrevorproject.org/volunteers/opportunities. We always appreciate the help! Volunteers help with every aspect of Trevor, and I am sure you could find something that interests you.
