How can he think that?
Question:
I have a question that I really hope you can answer! ok…so, at my mom and dad’s work there are a few gay couples. When my dad goes to his friends house he tells his friend and his friend makes fun of them! He thinks it’s completely wrong…How can he think that? I think that people should have a choice without getting judged. So, I guess my question is, why do people judge gay/bi-sexual, E.T.C…like they do? I mean they’re normal people!

Hi Hannah,
First and foremost, thank you for writing us. That can indeed be a very confusing question…
Thought it’s extremely sad that your father feels and acts the way he does, we here at The Trevor Project would like to commend you on the way that you feel about the LGBTQ community, who are indeed made up of very “normal people” (as you mentioned). The specific reason that your father – or anyone for that matter – doesn’t feel as accepting is hard to pin down, admittedly, and it could be a slew of reasons at play. Regardless, it’s people like you that will continue to help us “normal people” move forward in society, and once again – thank you!
All the best, and thanks again!
