I’m gay and have Asperger’s living in Russia

Hello. My name is Paul. I’m 19. I live in Saint Petersburg, Russia. I’m gay and have Asperger’s at the same time. There is no person to whom I can talk to, literally. I feel extremely depressed and it exacerbates. For a month I have been plunging into thoughts about suicide. When I tried to communicate with local LGBT organizations, they told me that they are so busy and inundated with more important work. I tried to find another gays in the city, but all they wanted was casual sex. I don’t know what to do. I depreciate all that happens around me. I’ve decided that I need disappear from the city. Is there any organization that needs international volunteers, in africa, humanitarian aid or the like? Could you help me?

Hi Paul, first off I want to commend you for reaching out to Ask Trevor. I want to let you know that you are not alone and that what you are feeling is normal. I want to tell you that what you are going through is important and here at the Trevor Project hope that we can help you in any way that we can because we value you as a person.

Paul, I want you to try and find someone that you can trust to talk to about your suicidal thoughts, I am glad you made the first step and reached out to us here but please try and find an adult, close friend you can talk to. I know that they may not be able to understand what you are going through but sometimes we just need someone to listen. If you feel that you cannot talk to someone, I would suggest looking for other organizations besides your local LGBT organization and maybe see if you can find an organization that helps people who have Aspergers. Reaching out to different outlets will help you not feel so alone. You are a wonderful individual who was brave enough to come forward and ask for help and you have a lot of things to look forward to. There are a lot of different organizations you can look up that love volunteer, I would suggest looking up Semester at Sea and see if that may interest you.
