We’re so glad that you reached out to Ask Trevor and we also want to commend you for your courage in writing to us. Wanting to find other people who share your interest in cross-dressing makes sense and is completely normal because it can make you feel more supported, understood, and less lonely.

The ability to find other individuals who also cross-dress really varies from location to location. For instance, it will be generally be easier in a large city versus a small town. You may want to look and see if your local school has an extracurricular group, such as a gay-straight alliance, where you are more likely to find other people who will be welcoming and accepting of someone interested in cross-dressing. If there is a faculty advisor to this group who you trust, you may also want to check with them. Your safety is paramount, so we don’t want you do get into any situations where you feel physically or emotionally unsafe. Therefore, we would caution you not to meet up with strangers that you find over the internet if you cannot guarantee that you will be safe in those situations. If you are looking to find an online community of other cross-dressers, then the Trevor Project is a great place to start! We would encourage you to log on to TrevorChat and search for other folks who are interested in cross-dressing; you will definitely find a great group of people online and the forums are always monitored by Ask Trevor administrators to make sure that everyone’s safety is paramount. People that you talk to on TrevorChat might also have good advice about other places that they’ve found other cross-dressers to talk to.

Finally, remember that the Trevor Project is always here for you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  Feel free to write again, log on to TrevorChat (as mentioned above), or call the Trevor Lifeline at 1-866-488-7386 if you need any more advice or want to talk. You are not alone!
