Thank you!
Question:
Hello,
I’m not sure if this letter is okay to send in, because I’m not looking for help and I don’t want to add to what must be a very large stack of messages, but… I just wanted to say how much I appreciate all you do! I’ve been very fortunate and things are more or less amazing — everyone I love knows I’m bi and on the whole they’ve been great, including my devoutly Catholic best friend and biggest supporter — but I remember how hard a time I had in the beginning and how much time I spent reading through letters and posts on sites like this one. I don’t think I could have imagined then that I’d be where I am now! And I thought how important places like this and people like you were to me when I started dealing with everything, and I thought maybe you don’t get a lot of thanks or happy stories, and so I thought I would come back and just say, for what it’s worth, that things are truly coming together for me. Even though I never talked to anyone here directly, just knowing you were there and using the resources you offered made a big difference. So, again, thank you for everything.
Kristen
Answer:
Dear Kristen,
It’s so wonderful to hear that you have had such a good experience with your friends and family in sharing with them that you are bisexual. I am glad that Ask Trevor was useful for you when you were going through a difficult time, and that the letters posted were able to help you get to where you are now.
Being comfortable with your sexuality is sometimes a difficult journey, but stories like yours are encouraging to hear. I am very glad that you have such wonderful support amongst those you hold dear.
Please know that if there is anything you may need in the future, you can always find more information and help at http://www.thetrevorproject.org. I wish you the best of luck and continued happiness!
