The Trevor Project Welcomes New Board Members

Ben Boyd, Deputy Chairman Practices & Sectors at Edelman, Zack Hicks, GVP & CIO at Toyota, Adam Shankman, Director, Producer & Choreographer join the Board of Directors of National Suicide Prevention Organization

West Hollywood, CA, (April 3, 2014) – The Trevor Project is proud to announce the additions of three leaders to the organization’s Board of Directors. Ben Boyd, Deputy Chairman Practices & Sectors at Edelman’s Corporate Practice; Zack Hicks, Group Vice President and Chief Information Officer of Toyota in North America; and celebrated director, producer and choreographer, Adam Shankman. The Trevor Project is the nation’s leading nonprofit providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning youth, ages 13-24.

“As an organization which must be agile to meet the ever-changing needs of LGBTQ youth, the skills and expertise Ben Boyd, Zack Hicks, and Adam Shankman each bring to The Trevor Project are invaluable assets,” said Meredith Kadlec, Chair of the Board of The Trevor Project. “We are proud to welcome Ben, Zack, and Adam to Trevor’s Board of Directors.”

Abbe Land, Executive Director and CEO of The Trevor Project shared how the skills of each contribute to the organization’s work to prevent suicide among vulnerable young people. “Ben’s expertise in marketing, communications and brand management is an invaluable asset to The Trevor Project. We are also fortunate to gain the technological expertise and business acumen of Zack, CIO of one of the most recognized brands on earth, as Trevor expands our digital services to reach more youth in the ways they need us most.”

Within the past 12 months, The Trevor Project has added five voices of expertise to the Board of Directors, with Dr. Lara Embry and Phil Armstrong of Goldman Sachs joining the Board in 2013, and Boyd, Hicks, and Shankman in 2014. The Executive Committee of The Trevor Project’s Board of Directors are Meredith Kadlec, Chair, Brian Dorsey, Co-Vice Chair; Michael Norton, Co-Vice Chair; Michael Graham, Treasurer; Christian Dowell, Secretary; Peggy Rajski, Co-Founder; and Bonnie Graves, Member At Large.
