 Hey there.

I am terribly sorry to hear that you are feeling pretty awful.  Life can be unbearably stressful sometimes.  I swear, you'll get through it.  It's going to take some time but life eventually works out.  I see you are looking for some mental health help that won't cost you a lot.   I just want to say, first off, that I commend you for getting help when you feel it is necessary.  A lot of people lack the insight to go ahead and search out options.  You are very brave!

If you don't have insurance, committing oneself to an institution is really quite expensive.  It's unfair the way the health feild works sometimes.  There are other options.  Now, some psychologists work on a sliding scale for those who can't afford therapy.  That is a possible arrangement if you have some money.  I would suggest taking a look at psychologists/psychiatrists in your area and giving them a call.  Another option is taking advantage of pro-bono services.  Pro-bono is when a service is offered to a client for free.  Many psychologists will offer pro-bono services every so often.  I also found this site (as you requested Houston, specifically).

I hope that helps.  Give them a call.  Hopefully, it will get you linked to other resouces.

Another thing I would like to address is support network.  Do you have family, siblings, freinds, or anyone that you trust and can talk to?  There are people in the community that can help you out.  You just have to ask around.  You can do it!  :)

Don't give up.  There are resources out there for the less fortunate. It just takes a little research and please if you ever feel like you are in an emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.  Furthermore, take advantage of the lifelines out there.  Call The Trevor Lifeline at 866.466.7386 or The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1.800.273.TALK.

Hang in there.  You got this!
