Many gay people claim to have a “gaydar”, which is to say they can sense who is gay and who is not. The truth is, that we (“gays”) are more familiar with other gay people than the straight community, and probably know a little better who fits the criteria for being gay and who does not.
Your question has more to do with what to do about this guy that you have a crush on.
The questions I would recommend asking yourself are: Are you friends with the boy? Can you get to know him (or know him better) as a friend? Is it safe to talk to him? (in other words, is he going to react badly if you talk to him directly about dating or being gay?)
There is only one good way to figure out if someone has feelings for you: ask them. If you feel safe, I recommend talking to the boy directly. If you don’t feel safe, I would recommend trying to get to know him as a friend.
