Over the past few years I've had several crushes on girls. I still find myself attracted to guys, but I just don't LIKE them. Does that mean I'm lesbian or bi?

As you are experiencing, the teenage years can be both an exciting and a confusing time during which you try to make sense of new and sometimes conflicting feelings. You may feel pressure to make a decision about who you are in many areas of your life—including your sexual orientation. But give yourself time to explore your different feelings. Though it may be frustrating at times to not have an immediate answer, there’s no deadline by which time you have to know, is there?

As we have frequently said to the many others that have written us, there is no “test” for determining your sexual orientation, nor can anyone else legitimately tell you what your sexual orientation is. What’s most important is for you to be comfortable with yourself, and with whatever orientation you ultimately decide upon.

It can be helpful to talk about this stuff with someone who is not judgmental and will help you find your own way. If there is no one currently in your life that you feel comfortable talking to, please give The Trevor Helpline a call at 866.4.U.TREVOR (866.488.7386). Your current struggle is something with which The Helpline counselors are really familiar.
