Hey. My name is Kyle. I'm 14. And I'm gay. I've been out of the closet since I was 12. I fully accept myself for who I am and I enjoy helping other people figure out their sexuality or further educate themselves about other sexualities. I was wondnering if there was anyway way that I could help with The Trevor Project. Whether it be giving support on the chat or helping with the suicide hot line. I want to make a difference. I usually have a lot of free time and I figured might as well spend it helping others. I was diagnosed with Clinic Depression after my parents split up and I like to support other people and save another innocent life. Hopefully, I will be able to help with The Trevor Project in anyway. Thank you.

 Hi Kyle:

Let me start by saying you are awsome. You seem to be in control and have it together.  The fact that you want to help other youth is fantastic. I'm glad you have reached out to AskTrevor.

There are ways you can help mostly just being there for others that you may meet on a day to day bases. Unfortunately the Trevor volunteers have to be 18 years or older.  There is www.trevorspace.org a safe, online social networking site for LGBTQ young people ages 13-24 their friends and allies. It's a great supportive community where you can connect with others who are experiencing some of the situations and questions you have had. You may be be able to share your experiences with others and encourage them.

Thanks again for writing to AskTrevor we would love to have all the voluteers we can handle. Don't forget us when you turn 18. Remember if you have questions or are seeing rough tmes we are here for you too.
