I feel like I’ve hit rock bottom in my life and just can’t explain it all. I’m bi and I don’t know how to tell my mom and friends, especially the girls. What if they don’t like me anymore? I'll be the laughing stock of the school.

The most important issue here is that you feel like you’ve “hit rock bottom.” Regardless of the reasons for that, it is really important that you get help from a professional to get you back on the way up again. If you don’t feel you are ready or able to confide in your mother about being bi, could you maybe let her know how badly you are feeling and tell her that you’d like help in dealing with those feelings? Could you speak with a teacher or counselor at school? Again, you don’t have to acknowledge your sexual orientation to them if you don’t feel comfortable doing so, but the point is to get some help in dealing with the severity of your feelings. In the meantime, we also strongly encourage you to call The Trevor Helpline at 866.4.U.TREVOR (866.488.7386) so that you can process your feelings with someone that is supportive and non-judgmental.
