Thank you for reaching out to us!  I'm glad you are interested in working with LGBT youth.

 

I found a couple of resources that might be helpful.  They are all listed in Minneapolis, which might be a trek for you, but it seems they are the best options for volunteering in your area.

 

1) Avenues for Homeless Youth works with LGBT teens to place them in emergency or short-term housing and offer support services.  http://www.avenuesforyouth.org/

 

2) The Bridge for Youth works in crisis prevention and shelter for runaway youth, and they offer LBGT-sensitive services. http://www.bridgeforyouth.org/

 

3) The Family Partnership, District 202 is community center for LGBT youth. http://thefamilypartnership.org/index.asp?SEC={C318833B-C6AF-481F-B245-3D54A61CDE8C}&Type=B_BASIC
