President and Founder, Girl Meets Grape
Member at Large
Bonnie Graves is the President and Founder of Girl Meets Grape, a boutique wine and lifestyle marketing agency launched in 2005. Graves’ work includes designing and implementing US campaigns for major wine-producing regions such as Napa Valley, Rioja, Champagne, Western Australia, the Fedejerez and Portugal’s IVDP among others.
Graves began her career as an actress, teacher, poet, and serial graduate student whose work in restaurants and fluency in Spanish and French launched her career as a sommelier. Restaurant posts include stints at Danny Meyer’s Union Square Café, Jean-Georges in New York, and Wolfgang Puck’s flagship, Spago Beverly Hills. She has developed wine programs for clients that include the Loews, Andaz, Viceroy, and Destination Hotel chains among many independent restaurants. Media work includes a long-time position as Yahoo’s Wine Editor and as the Food & Wine Editor for Moon Tide Media’s suite of custom publications. On-camera work includes hosting live segments for WineTasteTV, Mark Cuban’s HD Net, the Fine Living network and local appearances on KTLA, Good Day LA and others.
Graves joined The Trevor Project’s Board in 2007 and currently serves on the Executive Committee. Previously, she helped launch Trevor’s nationwide Ambassadors Council initiative. A seventh-generation “cultural” Mormon born in Utah but raised on the East Coast, Graves likes to think her pioneering ancestors are toasting her Trevor work up in heaven, ideally with some very good champagne.
As someone who lost two close LGBTQ friends to suicide as a teenager, Graves remains passionately committed to protecting and promoting the mental health of our youth. Married with two young children, her greatest joy is hiking with her family in National Parks around the country or at home in Topanga Canyon, where she currently resides.
