Christian Dowell

Senior Legal Director, Global Brand & IP Litigation at Yahoo!

Christian Dowell currently serves as Senor Legal Director, Global Brand & IP Litigation at Yahoo.  Christian manages Yahoo’s global trademark & domain name portfolios, supervising trademark prosecution and litigation.   

Prior to joining Yahoo, Christian practiced law at the firm of Keats McFarland & Wilson in Beverly Hills, California, which recently merged with Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton.  While at KMW, Christian enjoyed the distinct opportunity to work with some of the world’s most recognizable brands and intellectual property content providers, including major motion picture studios, multi-platinum Grammy award-winning artists, and leading video game producers.  Christian handled copyright, trademark, class action, and general commercial litigation matters, as well as providing a wide range of intellectual property counseling. 

Christian’s pro-bono activities include serving as vice-president of the board of directors of the Yahoo Employee Foundation and co-chair of Yahoo Pride, the company’s LGBT employee resource group.  In 2012, Christian was recognized by the National LGBT Bar Association for his efforts to promote LGBT diversity awareness in the corporate arena and given the Out & Proud Corporate Counsel Award.  In 2013, the LGBT Bar recognized Christian with its “Best LGBT Lawyers Under 40” award.
