Phil Armstrong

Partner at Goldman Sachs & Co

Phil Armstrong is a partner at the investment bank of Goldman Sachs & Co, having been with the firm for over 25 years. He is the Co-Chief Operating Officer for the Operations Division where he oversees a wide range of logistical support for the firm’s trading, sales, and investing activities.  Prior to this, Phil held positions as global head of Derivative Operations and global head of Fixed Income Operations. He has extensive management experience across the Americas, Europe, and Asia.

Since 2007, Phil has also served on the Board of CLS Group. He is currently Vice-Chair of the Board and Chair of the Board Strategy Committee. CLS provides payment and risk management services to the global foreign exchange industry.

Phil is proud to have worked with Teachers College, Columbia University to launch Youth Rising, a program to provide mental health resources to disenfranchised youth. He is also a strong supporter of the IndoChina Starfish Foundation and their mission to provide education and family support to impoverished children in Cambodia. At Goldman, Phil is a sponsoring ally for the LGBT affinity network.

Phil is a volunteer for the Ask Trevor program and joined the Board of Directors in July 2013. Phil was born and raised in London, England and currently resides in New York with his wife Maxine and their daughter.
