Funny and moving, TREVOR is about a 13-year old boy living in 1981 consumed by his love for Diana Ross and musical theatre. He is befriended by Pinky Faraday, a hunky athletic middle school classmate, and quickly becomes enamored of him. Soon enough, word spreads that Trevor is gay and he is shunned by all his classmates including Pinky. Realizing that he does indeed like boys, though not understanding why everyone thinks that’s such a bad thing, Trevor decides it would probably be better for everyone if he weren’t around.
But ultimately, Trevor is no victim. Help comes in an unexpected form, and by the end, it’s clear Trevor’s developing sense of self and undeniable enthusiasm for life will always see him through.
