A San Francisco Tradition

This December, Trevor’s San Francisco Ambassadors hosted their 4th Annual Trevor Holiday Skate, once again sponsored by Safeway at their Ice Rink in beautiful Union Square. More than 200 people came together on a chilly evening in December to celebrate the winter holidays while supporting the life-saving programs and resources of The Trevor Project.  This year’s event was a special “thank you” to our Bay Area volunteers, donors, and others who support the Trevor mission.

San Francisco Ambassador and Co-Chair Joy Kessler said, “This is a great family event, and Safeway provides so much. They donated the rink, the skates, and all the cookies anybody could eat plus hot chocolate. And they distributed a Thank You gift as people leave the event. The Ambassadors manage the evening, market the event, check people in and distribute Trevor materials. Everyone had a lot of fun.”

Rebecca Chekouras, Event Chair, echoed the good feelings. “We so appreciate the many volunteers and donors we have in the area. It really does take a village to keep at risk LGBTQI youth safe and thanks to our supporters, we can.”
