We are partnering with lululemon to advance the wellbeing and improve the health equity of LGBTQ+ youth. The Trevor Project was announced as a national partner of the lululemon Centre for Social Impact when it was launched in October 2021. Support from lululemon in the amount of $3 million is helping The Trevor Project to scale our work and provide more LGBTQ+ youth with targeted suicide prevention and crisis intervention services, in addition to advancing our crucial advocacy work. Over 145,000 LGBTQ+ folks and allies came out to last year’s Pride Parade in Los Angeles! The Trevor Project is returning to join the parade and show our support for LGBTQ+ young people. Supporters of The Trevor Project are invited to join us and cheer on the procession on Sunday, June 11. The parade route will be on Hollywood Blvd, Highland Ave, and Cahuenga Blvd. Adjacent to the Parade route will be Pride Village, a free street fair featuring food, activities, live performances and more. The NYC Pride March has a long legacy of celebration and activism, starting with the first Pride March in 1970 one year after the Stonewall Uprising. This year, The Trevor Project is returning to join the march and show our support for LGBTQ+ young people! The Trevor Project's research estimates that at least one LGBTQ+ young person between the ages of 13 and 24 attempts suicide every 45 seconds in the U.S. Currently, about 45% of the youth we serve across our crisis services are youth of color, and we know from our 2022 National Survey on LGBTQ+ Youth Mental Health that many LGBTQ+ young people of color would benefit from increased access to culturally competent mental health support.
