On National Coming Out Day, The Trevor Project is proud to announce its newest resource for LGBTQ youth and their allies – Coming Out As You!
Coming Out As You is a pocket-sized resource that helps young people navigate the coming out experience in a safe way that encourages critical thinking. Throughout the 30 page booklet, readers can explore different aspects of coming out and think about how they’d answer questions like “Who do you have crushes on or imagine being with” or “Will coming out put your safety at risk?”
The guide also includes two worksheets: “The Spectrum” and the “Coming Out Constellation.” The Spectrum helps young people visualize several aspects of their identity, which can be fluid. The Constellation is a full page, folded and tucked into the back of the guide, that gives readers a place to organize their thoughts on coming out.
Visit TheTrevorProject.org/YOU to read the guide and it’s online bonus chapters!
Educators and youth-serving adults can request printed copies of the guide by ordering a Trevor Resource Kit.
