Adam Rippon and Gus Kenworthy Set to Host; Lena Waithe, Greg Berlanti, and McKinsey & Company’s Dominic Barton to be Honored

NEW YORK CITY—Singer-songwriter Rita Ora and the cast of VICELAND’s MY HOUSE are set to perform at The Trevor Project’s TrevorLIVE New York gala on June 11 at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City. The organization, which provides a suite of crisis intervention and suicide prevention programs particularly for LGBTQ youth, celebrates its 20th anniversary this year.

Ora is an international pop singer with multiple #1 singles, and 12 singles in the top 10. Her debut album premiered at #1 on the UK charts and was certified platinum. Recently she hit a major milestone, tying the record for the most Top 10 Singles for a solo female in the UK. Her debut U.S. album is due out this year, with 3 of its singles already platinum and in the UK Top 5. She released her latest single “Girls” in May of this year, with Rolling Stone declaring “Rita Ora stakes her claim for song of the summer with ‘Girls,’ a catchy squad anthem.” Rita, who is signed to Atlantic Records, recently wrapped up her sold-out headline tour and is set to take the stage at various music festivals this summer. Her film credits include her role in the upcoming Detective Pikachu, the globally successful Fifty Shades of Grey franchise, of which the final installment was released by Universal Pictures earlier this year, Fast and Furious, Southpaw, and Wonderwall.

“I am honored to be performing at this year’s TrevorLIVE Gala. The Trevor Project’s mission is very close to my heart,” said Ora. “It is vital that LBGTQ+ youth have the resources and support that The Trevor Project provides. I am thrilled to perform and be a part of such a great night supporting such wonderful work!”

TrevorLIVE New York will kick off with a special performance by the eclectic voguing cast of VICELAND’s MY HOUSE. The show is an insider’s guide to New York City’s hyper-competitive underground queer ballroom scene. It follows the lives of six inimitable and fierce voguers — Tati 007, Alex Mugler, Jelani Mizrahi, Lolita Balenciaga and Relish Milan — while the ultimate expert, Precious Ebony, a bold and brazen commentator on the scene, lays out the rules, the rivalries, and all the drama in between.

“I can say that we all came to the ballroom community to find a place where we could express ourselves freely and be loved for the proud LGBTQ+ people that we are,” said VICELAND’s “My House” cast member and noted ballroom scene commentator, Precious Ebony. “We are all so very honored to perform for The Trevor Project’s gala to continue to support our community and their life-saving message of love and acceptance for LGBTQ+ youth. I hope everyone is ready for a show-stopping, jaw-dropping, edge-of-your-seat performance.”

“We’re thrilled to have Rita Ora and the ‘My House’ cast support The Trevor Project’s mission of saving LGBTQ young lives,” said Amit Paley, CEO and Executive Director of The Trevor Project. “We’re excited to have performers from different parts of the LGBTQ community join us for an incredible night at TrevorLIVE NY.”

It was previously announced that U.S. Olympic medalists Adam Rippon and Gus Kenworthy will serve as the event’s emcees, while Lena Waithe and Greg Berlanti will be honored with the Hero Award, and McKinsey & Company’s Dominic Barton will receive the 20/20 Visionary Award. Additional names for TrevorLIVE New York will be announced in the coming weeks.

Proud presenting sponsors of this year’s TrevorLIVE NY include AT&T, Goldman Sachs Gives, and 21st Century Fox. In addition, Kimpton Hotels is the official hotel sponsor, United Airlines is the official airline sponsor, and Three Olives vodka is the official spirits supporter.
