Join The Trevor Project For Our 50 Mile Challenge

BY: Trevor News
50 mile challenge. Join us this April

The Trevor Project is excited to host our first-ever virtual 50 Mile Challenge! Join us this April by committing to walk/run 50 miles over the month and help us raise funds that will support our mission: to end suicide among LGBTQ young people.

Because you are here for Trevor, we can be there for every single LGBTQ young person who needs help. As part of this community of care, you’re playing an active role in creating a more inclusive, safe world for all LGBTQ individuals.

Follow these simple steps to join our 50 Mile Challenge:

  1. Register in Facebook Messenger now to log your miles all month. Choose to create a team or participate solo!
  2. Follow this link and we’ll automatically create a fundraiser with all the right settings on your behalf. You can edit the details on Facebook upon creation!

The money raised will help The Trevor Project’s goal to provide free, confidential, 24/7 suicide prevention and mental health services to LGBTQ young people. These services, along with Trevor’s public education, peer support, research, and advocacy work, create a better and more welcoming world — one where LGBTQ young people can envision bright futures for themselves.

Thank you so much for your interest in this challenge and being here for all LGBTQ young people!

Q: How do we compete as a team?

A: When you register in Messenger, you will be prompted to take on the challenge solo or as a team. Follow the prompts to build out your team!

Q: Can I do a different activity?

A: While the challenge is designed for miles, if you want to do another activity, you’re more than welcome.

Q: What do I do if I started a Facebook fundraiser for The Trevor Project but not specifically for the challenge?

A: A Facebook fundraiser for The Trevor Project is the same as a fundraiser for this challenge. Thanks for supporting Trevor’s mission.

The Trevor Project Community Went Above And Beyond For The 50 Mile Challenge

Our community of generous and determined supporters made a huge commitment to walk/run/bike/travel 50 miles over the month of April, all to support The Trevor Project’s mission of ending suicide among LGBTQ young people. We are so proud to announce that our community went above and beyond for this challenge, logging over 252,000 miles and raising an incredible $1,313,377 for The Trevor Project.  Over 13,000 individuals came together to accomplish this goal, joining in a Facebook group that became a circle of love and care for LGBTQ young people across the country (and for each other). Throughout the month, members…
